Excited flower girl

29/09/11
During the church ceremony two of the flower girls ran round the side of the church and up the aisle. It was a great moment of opportunity since I was in the middle of taking a series of images as the vicar lit and presented a candle. I was shooting without flash so didn't have to worry about causing disturbance from multiple firings or about recharge times. A slowish shutter speed allowed the fast moving child to show as a blurred but recognisable figure. She leads the eye to the main group who are sharp and in focus.
It's one of my favourite images from the day. I'm not sure whether that's because I feel I managed to grab a special moment or just that it fits into the sort of 'photographic style' I'm trying to develop. Either way, I like it.
