Rain Clouds Over Lavender Field

Rain Clouds Over Lavender Field
These lavender fields near Chichester were just asking to be photographed. I saw the deep grey shower clouds moving from camera left to camera right and knew I'd have to be quick to get the shot. A grey graduated filter helped balance the sky with the land and a small aperture and tripod helped to keep most of the image sharp.

The view, the smell of lavender and the hum of bees on the plants made for a stunning experience. In a couple of minutes the clouds had moved away and the moment was a memory.
