Sussex Landscapes
Bosham Church
This tenth century church is one of the most famous churches in Sussex. Its Saxon tower is a landmark for sailors in the Chichester channel and it is one of the most photographed and painted churches in the south of England.
It has historical connections with Harold II (whose visit to the church is depicted in the Bayeux Tapestry) and with King Canute (whose young daughter is thought to have drowned in the Millstream).
I wanted to hint at the historical mystique of this ancient Christian site so used infra red film to bring a diffuse, etherial glow to the image.
